Directory Sync Status Page
The Directory sync status page shows general information about your Microsoft 365 tenant’s Azure AD Connect synchronization configuration (if present). Figure 13.10 features an example of a Directory sync status page showing errors with the directory synchronization process, as well as basic information regarding the synchronization configuration:

From the Directory sync status page, you can click the Troubleshoot link to be directed to the troubleshooting steps for Azure AD Connect. You can also download the IdFix tool for resolving common object synchronization issues.
Service Health Status Page
Microsoft provides a second status page that allows you to check for errors that occur when you’re logging in to the Microsoft 365 admin center. If you are unable to log in to the Microsoft 365 admin center, there may be an issue with the admin portal. You can access the Service Health Status page at https://status.office365.com. An example of the Service Health Status page is shown in Figure 13.11:

If the login services are working correctly, you’ll typically see nothing except a link to the Service health dashboard. However, if the login service or admin center portals themselves are experiencing errors, they will be displayed here.
Microsoft 365 Status X Feed
The Microsoft 365 StatusX (formerly Twitter) feed is a good resource for getting notifications as well. The Microsoft 365 Status X feed includes everything in the Office 365 suite and then adds on Windows and Enterprise Mobility + Security products and services. The Microsoft 365 Status X account is verified to denote it is an official page, as shown inFigure 13.12:

You can follow it on X at @MSFT365Status or by navigating to https://twitter.com/ msft365status or https://x.com/msft365status. In addition to the service health monitoring options presented here, there are other options to access service health data, such as through custom solutions that leverage the Service Communications API, System Center Management Pack for Office 365, and the Microsoft 365 admin app. Custom support options aren’t part of the MS-900 exam, but it’s good to know they exist if you need to build something.
